On the Kawaguchiko tour, we will visit Mount Fuji in Yamanashi prefecture. You will get to see all the highlights of this charming town at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
Depending on the season and the weather we can make a stop at various places. Mt. Fuji is sometimes shrouded in clouds, so on a clear bright day, we can show you the best spots to see Mt Fuji with some gorgeous cherry blossoms (in late March/Early April), or beautiful autumn leaves (late October/Early November). If you want a hassle-free experience of the best views of Mt. Fuji and a great day trip from Tokyo, this is the tour for you!
Our Kawaguchiko Itinerary
The guide will pick you up in your hotel lobby around 8am if you are staying in central Tokyo. You will then take the train and/or bus to Kawaguchiko.
If you choose the 12-hour option we will visit Mt Fuji’s 5th station if weather permits. It is accessible by bus and does not involve any climbing. It is the highest point you can reach on Mt. Fuji without having to actually climb it. In the 10-hour version of the tour, we will start from the second point of the program.
From Fuji’s 5th station you can see an amazing view of Lake Kawaguchiko and if it’s a clear day, you can even see the Japanese Alps from here! Breathe in the crisp mountain air while snapping up some cute Fuji souvenirs after we have visited the shrine and bought a fortune. Hopefully, it will be a good one and remember… if it comes true you need to come back to thank the Gods. :)
After visiting the 5th station, Japan the guide will show you two of the best spots to see the mountain from and enjoy the surrounding nature. We will go to another vantage point by cable car from where you can snap the most amazing pictures of the mountain. The way back you can either take the stairs and pass through a lovely hydrangea park (blooming in June), or you can take the cable car back. Then we will go to a park next to the lake from which you can see the mountain behind the lake from another famous picture-perfect location.
From here we will go to a beautiful little art museum. Not only is the art wonderful, but the building itself is quite exquisite and looks like it comes straight out of a fairy tale.
When we have looked around in the art museum, the guide will take you to the last and possibly most enchanting vantage point to see Mt. Fuji and enjoy the local nature. In spring, there are some amazing Sakura (cherry blossom) spots, and in the autumn you can enjoy the vivid colors of Momiji (Japanese maples). If you are there around sunset time in the winter it will definitely be one of the most memorable viewpoints you will see in Japan.
If the weather would be bad on the day of the tour, the guide will propose an alternative tour for the day.
